BT Voyager 205 and Buffalo Airstation WYR-G54

i've just received my BT adsl router and connected it up to the Airstation to enable the wireless network, surfing is no problem however using programs like azureus and MSN Messenger is impossible i've tried the portforward.com tutorials for both the Voyager and Airstation and even with them both configured.. nothing. i've been at this for a couple of hours now and i'm ready to tear my hair out, the computer has it's static ip address all sorted the router and access point are both working but they seem intent on stopping me from using these two programs... HELP!!

Is it possible to just try with the voyager (i.e. no wireless) and concentrate on getting that working first then hook up the wireless point and experiment with that.

Also where are you portforwarding to, the airstation IP address or your PC's IP address. If to the PC, try to the airstation IP then set the airrstation to portforward to your PC.
