Are these figure good or bad?

Hi
I have just got my regrade to MaxDSL.

I obtained the following from 'Telnet'ing my SAR 130 modem:

Quote
Local Tx. Power(dB) : 9.95 Remote Tx.Power(dB) : 19.75
Local Line Atten(dB) : 2.0 Remote Line Atten(dB) : 4.5
Local SNR Margin(dB) : 13.0 Remote SNR Margin(dB) : 26.0
Up SValue : 1 Down SValue : 1
Up DValue : 1 Down DValue : 1

I don't really understand what this means. Could anyone explain if these are good results or not?

Cheers

It means that when you walk out of the front door you keep bumping into BT engineers going on and off duty but that's OK because you can swap mail with them that the postman has misdelivered!

It also means that you've got better SNR when maxing out MaxDSL than most people have at 2Mbps! Tongue

Thanks - I can see the exchange from my window Smiley

Thankfully a few nice trees obscure it somewhat Wink

As a guide, the figures suggest the length of your phone line to the exchange is about 200 meters and about 100 of those are actually in the exchange.

Now that is close

Also if you were to change to LLU and also have an ADSL2+ connection, you would easily get 24Mbs speeds you lucky sod. Tongue

I've not been feeling so lucky over the last two weeks if you've read my posts regarding throttling my uL & DL speeds.

So strange how, almost at 4pm to the minute, speeds were throttled yet it could take up to three hours befor they would return - sometiumes a reboot of the modem was necessary.

They still haven't answered to the fact that the DL limits contradict themselves depending what page you read.
