Anyone else got problems!!

No problems with email or accessing websites outside of PlusNet - tried UK, US, germany, france etc and all websites responding as expected.

Try rebooting your PC and any ADSL equipment you have.

If that fails to cure the problem, post a tracert to a website so we can see where the problem is.

The problem *is* plus.net, rebooting won't do anything when the problem is obviously wide spread and nothing to do with users machines.

Can somebody please look into why I can't access anything, I've had to switch to dial up.

Can't connect to anything at all here, not even the portal. I'm using a non-Plusnet connection to post this.

tracert's are still important in diagnosing where the problem may be. As I said I am not seeing any problems (I'm on Home Surf) so it may be effecting other types of accounts only.

If it was an outright failure I would be effected also, so it may be a routing issue for some account types.

I don't see how I can do a tracert when it just time out.

I am on HWPro 500 acount and there is a problem, a major one. I'll post a support ticket but since they take forever a day to be answered I can't see the point.

Just got this from another e mail account I have registered.

Subject: ADSL Dropped Connections

We have just experienced a problem where a traffic through our ADSL network has dropped
to almost 0. This fault appears to be affecting all our 155Mb pipes and our engineers are
now investigating.

Further updates will be provided when more information is available.

Josh Berry

I would be effected also

Affected, maybe, unless you've been subject to a management decision of some kind ;p

And yep, I'm affected too.. tracerts in pn.s.c-w for you to peruse... not much use I'd suspect as it's inconsistent. However, it certainly seemed to die within the plusnet cloud.

The laptop (freshly booted) is sat trying to access anything, and it's all gone to buggery. No mail, no news, no web.

Open a DOS/cmd window (start -> run -> cmd or command)

Then run tracert portal.plus.net

e.g.

C:\Documents and Settings\Peter>tracert portal.plus.net

Tracing route to portal.plus.net [212.159.8.137]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

2 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.0.1

9 25 ms 23 ms 22 ms portal.plus.net [212.159.8.137]

Trace complete.

I'm guessing you lot are not on homesurf as I am and the problem is nopt effecting homesurf accounts it would appear.
