Another MAX question - suggestions please!

I requested an upgrade to DSLMAx on 26th Nov. I've never had any confirmation of when I might be upgraded, but noticed slower speeds a couple of days ago and dropped connections. Checked my router stats, and lo & behold:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 22 db 5 db
Noise Margin 11 db 28 db

What should I guage from the Line Attenuation & NM reading - they mean nothing tom me!!?

Ran a few speed checks that evening:

06/12/06 22:20 1890.46 Kbps 368.05 Kbps
06/12/06 22:09 1785.89 Kbps 365.93 Kbps
06/12/06 20:25 1478.30 Kbps 305.31 Kbps
06/12/06 20:23 1428.38 Kbps 294.51 Kbps
06/12/06 20:02 1254.28 Kbps 289.78 Kbps

Today my D/L speeds are still around the 2Mb mark. I've followed the instructions to disconnect my router once a day. Should I not be expecting the speeds to start increasing beyond 2Mb or is that a really silly question?

My Connection Settings show as "Your current broadband speed is 2000 Kbps". Will this change...?

TIA

That shows a fairly stable line.

I've made a profile change this end which should uplift your speeds. Let me know if you encounter any problems. You'll need to reconnect for this to take effect, and the speed page should now show 8000.

4886.99 Kbps 377.84 Kbps

I like that!! Smiley

Thanks. Is it a case of monitoring for the next few days?

Yep. The first 10-14 days is the training period where the line could be unstable. But looking at your line stats - you should be okay.

Glad that's helped you, though!

Cheers Liam.

Is it possible to post on here what the profile changes made actually were?
