Plus.net says that is acceptable, but before I was get around 17xx -18xxKbps, I'm now not even getting close to 2Mbps. Whats the problem?

I've rebooted my router its and Netgear DG834G. Some advice is appreciated.

I am no Expert but it looks to me like BT have set your RAS profile to 500 Kbps, as you have had speeds higher than this before then it should be possible to raise your profile, however this is all dependant on line conditions and distance from exchange Etc. Blah Blah BLah, sure you have heard all that before.....

Im appromimately 750meters away from my exchange, anyway to get BT to change my RAS profile? If I opt-out of the ADSLMax programme will I start getting my old 2Mbps speeds?

You are close enough to your exchange to have a much higher profile, I recently got my profile raised from 500 to 7000Kbps. I raised a ticket with PN and after a lot of battling with them they raised a fault with BT who sorted the profile. however my actual speeds have not improved much so I am still battling with them.....

Coming off MAX and back to a fixed 2000 service will get you back to a 2000Kbps line but will probably cost you a re-grade fee

James got on the case and has put a fault out with BT hope to hear from BT/PN or just see a change is speeds.

How long would this normally take? Cool

It took just over 5 days for them to sort it on mine, however I had also made a complaint ot BT Wholsale so I do not know if PN sorted it or BT although PN are claiming credit......
