ADSL router - opinions please

I am about to abandon my problematic A360 for a Modem/Router(*)/Firewall.

I have decided upon one of the following:

Allied Telesyn - AT-AR240E
Modem
Firewall (SPI)
1 x USB
1 x 10T

DrayTek - Vigor 2600
Modem
Router
Firewall (SPI)
1 x USB
4 x 10/100T

I have found no or few reviews, so I wondered if anyone in Plus.net land had any experience.

Opinions please!

Mark

RE: ADSL router - opinions please

Hi

I have been using a Vigor 2600W for about a month with no problems and get full bandwidth speed( The W version has backup ISDN and a built in Wireless hub). I had no problems setting it up, I purchased through SEG Ltd. I beleive that Adslguide has a review of the 2600.

I hope this helps

I use a SpeedTouch 510(v4) and its been great... dead easy to setup using web iface, but can go silly with telnet!
got it from dslsource, they were easy to deal with also..

RE: ADSL router - opinions please

I have the Vigor 2600. There's not a lot I can say about it other than "it just works." Had it working in just a few minutes from getting it out of the box. It's firewall is pretty secure by default. Had no problems with it at all from Linux, Windows or MacOSX.

Recommended.

BTW, it doesn't have a USB port.

RE: ADSL router - opinions please

I also have installed a Vigor at work about 6 months ago and since then two of my colleagues have bought one and all 3 installations are trick free.

If I ever throw out my A360 (unlikely as it's been a good friend) I would buy a Vigor 2600W (wireless).
