ADSL faceplate splitters

I've been using a surge protected fourway power strip with phone input/output for my computer equipment.

Now thinking of trying one of these adsl faceplates to see if it makes my connection any more stable, but if I fit one of these and plug the router directly into that via a shielded lead, what do I do about line surge protection?

Try this http://www.clarity.it/acatalog/surge_protectors.html -- it's likely to be better designed for ADSL use than the powerstrip one!

If you want to see if an ADSL faceplate will improve your adsl without buying one, then unscrew your existing master socket front, pull off the bottom part and insert your router into the now exposed socket to your right. That's the cleanest signal you'll get without BT messing with your line.

[Note that this will disconnect all extensions, if you have any]

The Clarity beast is a high grade surge arrestor with a very high speed gas discharge tube for dealing with surges caused by nearby lightning strikes, it's not just an adaptor!

Shellsong -

Just that your "post time" was showing 12.19 when the previous post to yours was 10.40 and mine, which was after yours was posted 10.54 (which was the actual time I posted). Thats all.

I went with http://www.adslnation.com/products/xte2005.php as i already had a v.1.0 that BTards supplied me with 5 year ago. Improved the SNR pretty good aswell as compared to the other.
