RE: ADSL Speed

This could be down to a number of things.

One of the issues may be that if you are over 3.5 Kilometres from the exchange your rADSL may download at a lower speed. This is simply due to the distance form the exchange and the quality of the line.

RE: ADSL Speed

Sorry guys the link is http://speedtest.adslguide.org.uk:8080/speedtest.html

As for the distance, most of the time my rDSL download speed is near the same as my upload speed. Surley if things were that bad then the test would have failed (i was told it did at one point) i was advised by one of your chaps to test this out for a while as i was quite prepaired to have things changed over to my other line (see open ticket) which seems to have a shorter run to the exchange. I don't think i am happy with this D/L speed. (My D/L speed is near half what it should be).

Is there a way we can get the distance of the two lines checked by BT so i can use the best line for the job.

RE: ADSL Speed

Last time I ran this check on my own plusnet connection it scored well. I will try it again when I get home.

Hi,

Thanks for the link guys, my downstream connection dropped to below 100 kbps for a while last night :eek

Recovered to about 470 later on. Got worried for a while, there...
