ADSL Speed Test - Update

Lasted speed test using the one @ adslguide.org.uk:

Downstream 472 Kbps (59.0 KB/sec) 509 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 244 Kbps (30.5 KB/sec) 263 Kbps (inc. overheads)

I'm actually getting the theoretical max speed possible, it's a shame 512kbps is really 472kbps in reality.

Don't we just like the professoin of marketing and the deceitful and dishonest job it really is according to the above raw data. We don't get what we pay for OR as advertised to be fairer.

509 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Now thats what your getting including "non-useful" data, but it is still receiving that data, so 509kbps out of a theoretical maximum of 512kbps is pretty damn good isnt it?

RE: ADSL Speed Test - Update

I've just tried the Plusnet Tech bandwidth meter and I've got the following reading.

PlusNET Technologies Bandwidth Meter
Your current bandwidth reading is: 534.30kbps which means you can download at 66.79 KB/sec. from our servers.

Now thats not bad for a 512kbps service is it.

RE: ADSL Speed Test - Update

After the speed test I did the other day, the latest reading is as follows:- PlusNET Technologies Bandwidth Meter Your current bandwidth reading is:
512.10kbps which means you can download at 64.01 KB/sec. from our servers.

Very respectable since its nearly 7.30pm. Was slower earlier but still over 300kbps.
