ADSL NOT FAST ENOUGH TO GET TO MARS

I just wanted to write here today.
as lots of people are moaning still about the connection speeds still.

My current speed today and since the recent upgrades are:

Broadband Speed Test Results

Results from your most recent broadband speed test recorded on 16 November 2002 at 19:13:00.

Your Connection

Direction Actual Speed True Speed
Downstream 469 Kbps (58.6 KB/sec) 539 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 246 Kbps (30.8 KB/sec) 282 Kbps (inc. overheads)

So it currently reads 58.6 K down and 30.8 K up.
which is great for use on the entire planet earth for almost every internet user.

But it's not fast enough yet.. do you think if i run DR TCP on 1458 and a 500 K/W BURNER added onto my Pentium 4 (2.4 GHz) or even try joining all 4 phone wires up at the mains and turning the voltage up on my mains regulator.. then add a 5 meter Satellite dish to the end of the cables and direct the LNB to the moon.. i might.. just might get up to 100 K Upstream so i can talk to the :bounce: ??!!! and maybe even maybe.. get a whopping 5 MB downstream to get a years worth of some Star Wars games in 2.2 milli seconds ??!!.

LOLOLOLOLOL

I'm joking.. just everyone here is never happy,
even when the service is fixed!!.

Well done PlusNet for keeping the connection so fast, i reckon it's fixed now for sure. my end anyway..

So just because your connection is fixed means everybody else's is as well?

You should know better! Especially as you were in the position of having a bad connection whilst many people had good connections yourself!

Thanks you Jason, your comments have been noted Smiley

We are always happy to receive a little positive feedback. On the whoe the feedback that we have received after the upgrades and maintenance has been very commendable.

Best Regards,

Dave.

What about the less than positive feedback? Please read thread "Random Outtages" by Snowyc and shed some light on the problem!

RE: ADSL NOT FAST ENOUGH TO GET TO MARS

Not all people are experiencing the same great service.

Just tried 2 different speed test sites. my average is :

Downstream 254 Kbps (31.8 KB/sec) 292 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Upstream 236 Kbps (29.5 KB/sec) 271 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Sad
