PlusNet allready have a 2Mb product out based on the IPStream Office wholesale product.

BT have no plan at this time to lauch a IPStream Home 2000, though PlusNet have said that they take any R/ADSL IPStream package that BT supply.

The 2Mb home package is labeled under the Home Worker account.

yep have to say i am very happy with the office 2000 package i got on Jan 2003. It has been bang on for what i need when i use p2p and now since i have met some folks aboard who have 10Mbit dl or more it makes me think i wish i could kick BT up the backside and starting increasing the speed even more. Well done to Plusnet for responding quickly to posts i put to them and keep up the good work one happy customer indeed.

hehe if plusnet plan to do faster dl speeds or need testers when u finally to get faster dl speeds than 2mbit i dont mind doing it Wink

all the best

2Mbps download / 256Kbps upload for P2P? Doesn't make much sense to me!

It has allways been illegal to distribute copyright material without licence.

P2P client require the user to make a consious decision to download a file, prior to the the P2P client redistriuting it. That would proove intent.

The only movies large enough to require a flat out 2Mb connection, to download in 1 hour is the major illegal movie scene. Copyright holders wish to protect there rights, so only stream casting of media would be available.

If you can find me any non-porn movies that large that are copyright free, or where the copyright licene allows free distribution, then I will give credit where it is due.

A few friends used to be into movie making, and regularly used things like bittorrent to dsitribute the movies, to save bandwidth costs etc.

Does that count?

ISP's do not in any way have to stop users from performing these functions (PlusNet do, but only on a specific product line).

Instead, they only have to comply with demands from the industry with regards to abuse.

I would get it but I wont pay £70 just for some one to press a button for me to have it. I think that is just shit.
