155mb Fat Pipe Testing here :)

Dear Support,

I'm just logged on to network, and i can tell you i got connected straight away!. thats one good thing, iam now going to put this to the test (whithout hogging anything) on the upstream and downstream, i will post back tral user time results here when i'm done, and not false results from adsl.org, as i find adsl.org speed test isn't very acurate.
Will post back some results shortly. Smiley
Been waiting a long time and looking forward for the 155mb fat pipe to be in place.. so this i'm happy to do.

RE: 155mb Fat Pipe Testing here :)

Test one complete.
realtime user Upstream is: 30.33 K or 303 K/bs
a great improvemnt!
this was a constant MPEG upstream to live365,
i pushed it to the max 56K user end for DSL/cable users,
something i couldn't do before as it would never go
any higher than 16.00 K or 6 K/bs without constant dropouts.

Now going to test Downstream and post some results after im done.

RE: 155mb Fat Pipe Testing here :)

And just for the sake of others who might moan,
here is a speed test from ADSL ORG

Downstream 465 Kbps (58.1 KB/sec) 534 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 240 Kbps (30.0 KB/sec) 276 Kbps (inc. overheads)

So you can see it's good!. and i'm getting the max for my account.

RE: 155mb Fat Pipe Testing here :)

And again here is another ADSL org speed test just to confirm that i'm getting super speeds now.

Broadband Speed Test Results

Results from your most recent broadband speed test recorded on 28 August 2002 at 13:52:49.

Your Connection

Direction Actual Speed True Speed
Downstream 465 Kbps (58.1 KB/sec) 534 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 236 Kbps (29.5 KB/sec) 271 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Will test everything again after 6pm, but i don't see there being a problem, everything is great!

I read some posts here from earlier, by a couple of newbies.. someone needs to tell them that you don't actually get 512 K downloads!!
LOL i wish that you did Wink

For the new people here on ADSL 500 packages you can expect '30 K' upstream and around '60 K' max downstream. This is the correct speeds for ADSL 500. You can't get 512 K downloads here, well not with a 500 account!!.

RE: 155mb Fat Pipe Testing here :)

Hi!

It is so good to see that everything is going well, especially after the dispair of some over the past few weeks.

Keep on with the reports, and don't forget if anybody notices any problems after the new central pipe install please let us know.

Good luck and I hope the fast speeds continue!

Kind Regards,
Russell.

RE: 155mb Fat Pipe Testing here :)

I hate to say it... It doesn't seem any faster to me....

Numion.com is telling me 80KByte/sec - which is pretty close to the average the last week.

A month ago it usually gave me 200KBytes/sec

My latest TraceRT is
C:\>tracert news.bbc.co.uk

Tracing route to newswww.bbc.net.uk [212.58.226.40]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 10 ms <10 ms <10 ms 192.168.0.1

Some alarmingly high numbers there....
