What are your router stats? See http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.php
Post the results of a BT speedtest which will show your sync rate and IP profile: http://speedtester.bt.com
What is your plusnet IP profile set to: https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed

It would appear that you are just miles from the exchange and your speeds are about right

Re: why do i get .5mb top speed????????

Also remove your WAN IP address.
You are on a very long line (63dB line attenuation) so the chances of getting a faster connection are little to none. Your 800Kbs sync rate limits your data rate to 0.5Mbs hence your slow speed (the 1Mb to 4Mb speeds are an estimate and not a guarantee your speed will be between the figures quoted).
Are you connected to the master socket. If not, try that again and post the router stats again as they may improve, although probably not by much. Note the only bts of nfo we need are line attenuation SNR/Noise margin and sync rates for both upstream and downstream.
Have you also tried connecting to the test socket which is behind the lower removable part of the master socket. This will eliminate any local phone wiring which may be interfering with the signal.
I assume you have ADSL filters on all phones, modems, faxes and sky boxes?

Re: why do i get .5mb top speed????????

Hi superdee84,
Your profile looks good but your speed isn't very good. Your line is still dropping quite a bit so I wouldn't be surprised to see the profile go down again. Have a look here for some tips.
