two wee tv's

Help folks, just signed up with plusnet broadband. Two wee t'v's not on bottom right hand of screen, so can't tell if logged on.

When you say you've just signed up, have you activated today or just requested the service?

I think you are going to need to give a bit more information.
Are you using a Plusnet supplied router or a USB modem

I think I understand.
You have previously used a dial up or USB modem connection.
With the router you are always connected to the internet and when your computer can see the router there will be a Network (Internet Access) Icon in the bottom right corner you will not see the two little TV screens although normally the Network Icon is a little TV. It may however be hidden by default

Well if you're posting from your PC I think we can assume you are connected OK - you're certainly posting from a PlusNet IP address
What version of windows are you using?
In XP you would need to go Start > Control Panel > Network Connections  There should be a connection showing as connected.
Right click that and select properties, at the bottom you should see a tick box for 'Show icon in notification area when connected', tick that and they will appear.
Vista will probably be similar.
