no matter what speed I sync at my plusnet linespeed is 1.40 and that's the fastest I can download at
bt has my ip profile at 1.85 ish yet plusnet linespeed stays the same, been a while now without it resetting itself
are plusnet throttling because of overcrowded under invested infrastructure?
will I have more chance of a usable connection with an llu isp?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Looking at the speed history over the past month, it does look like automation has been changing the speed profile on our side, it certainly hasn't been stuck at 1400. It can sometimes just take a little while for us to receive the delta report which would trigger the profile update.

EDIT: Having said this, it does look like there was a few changes on our suppliers die that could be made so I've altered a few settings to try and get some more speed out of your line for you.
I'm also just placed an order to uncap your upload speed. This should complete tomorrow.

back below 2mbs again
I'm on a long line even though there is an exchange much closer to me and bt are not installing fibre into my cabinet
learned to despise bt a long time ago, trading as plusnet doesn't change how I feel about them.
get better networks in pretty much any other country on earth
quality of support is hit and miss, luck of the draw if you get one that knows his ass from his dslam

Sorry to hear that, it does look like your speed profile has been moving around a little bit through automation:
Date | Profile | Event | ||||
2016-07-10 20:27:09 | Generic Speed 2200 No Time Out | Speed update by Delta Report
2016-07-08 16:42:27 | Generic Speed 2300 No Time Out | Speed update by Delta Report
2016-07-07 17:51:58 | Generic Speed 1800 No Time Out | Speed update by Delta Report |
Unfortunately as the estimates for your line are 1Mbps to 3.5Mbps, we can't guarantee it will always stay above 2Mbps
