Re: speed stats

Try checking your Exchange VP status here - http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ but unfortunately data is a month behind.
Try the PN speedtester - http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/ at an off peak time.
Also check your profile at the member centre - https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed ; (login required).
It's possible that that BT result is a bum one, there have been a few of late, it would be worth giving it a try at a really quiet time, early hours or early morning if you're about!
Thinkbroadband also have a speedtest that is pretty reliable http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ .
Yes your sync speed/profile is pretty good for that attenuation, hope it stays that way.

Re: speed stats

thanks Anotherone,I've been through all your suggestions and they all seem to give simular answers the BT result must be a duff as you suggest, never the less I will try it again later. My speed as I use the internet is a lot faster than it was so I will presume from that the connection is better, the speed generally is variable but I am a way from the exchange and we have overhead copper wire which is pretty old,I suppose that could account for variations,at least I dont get disconnections which is a God send.
