Re: speed problems! helpppppp

hi
thanks for the info. the work being carried out is the vp regrade right? that wont help my speed will it?
i think i may mis-led everyone when i said i had changed the router filter etc. i did this before reporting the fault not since.  what do i do now just wait? i know the work is due to complete on the 4th but i am unsure as to whether that is going to help my speed any. also my router is syncing at 512 as shown so i dont understand why my profile is 250. whenever it has dropped this low it has NEVER increased unless i have requested it to be re-set, and that is only dependant on who i speak to, or when i have needed to raise a fault

Hi bangorcity,
Yes, the VP would only effect your throughput rather than sync. If you could plug in another router through another filter then I would check again to see if the sync increases. Let me know if you do and I'll run a check.

Re: speed problems! helpppppp

You could try removing the ring wire if you haven't already done so.

Hi bangorcity,
Hmm it is a baffling one. I'll have a word with one of our faults guys and see if I can shed some more light on it for you.

Re: speed problems! helpppppp

A very strange one.
About all I've got left to suggest is to give the router a stern talking to and tell it it's got to do better! Sad

Hi bangorcity,
I've just been up to faults - believe me those stairs are a killer! - and we were just discussing what's happening, and he agrees with me that something's not quite right there. He's calling the suppliers now to see what the latest is and will call you and update your ticket shortly.

I presume this means you have other telephone extensions.
Can you confirm that when you have the front off the master socket and are using the test socket all the other extensions are dead.

no all other sockets are dead! and yes the front is off the master socket and the only thing connected is the filter which the router is going into
