slow speed and high ping

In the evenings since the 20th or so I've seen really slow speeds and high ping its at its worst tonight 107ms to a server thats normally 19, 15mb down now at 6 its also constantly changing, ping, speed, just seems random now but whats strange is btw speed test site says 15mb, 10mb  but anywhere else and trying to watch anything online is almost impossible with constant buffering. ran trace routes to bbc as follows

6 - Uptime: 0 days 01:57:07 (i reset it but it had no effect, was 14 days prior)

8 - Maximum data rate: 1268/17624
9 - Noise margin: 6.0/3.5
10 - Line attenuation: 16.6/29.0
Really impossible to play games with this latency as its 140-180 ping to eu servers

I recently ran through more thread posts and have come to the conclusion it was plsunet congestion at gateway pcl-bng01 disconnected for a minute and got pcl-bng02 and everything was fine

Well its back again which is always pleasent does anyone know if repeatedly disconnecting (ppp session only) and reconnecting will effect sync speed or ip profile?

Sorry i dont know the answer to your question - just to say that i have almost exactly the same problem.  Slower downloads and uploads and higher ping.  I will post a separate thread with my concerns (luckily for me i am over my 12 month contract)

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this - although, are you guys up north / in NI / Scotland? there's an interesting thread started over Here which looks like this could be down to BTW struggling with the current weather conditions.

i've also noticed the network slowing down in the evenings over the last few days. My broadband is stable, with no line problems. What has been very noticeable is that responses to the Plusnet gateway have more than trebled. Normally 30-40ms is what i'd expect to see, now its regularly in the 120ms and has gone as high as over 400ms on occasion. It's as if traffic is being shunted around a less than optimal routing. I'm not seeing any packet loss so its clean but its just a very noticeable dip in what is usually great performance. I'ver tried switching gateways by disconnecting and reconnecting but the issue is the same on different BNG gateways:

Thanks Matt_2k34, the similar thread in the fibre forum had an update from PN to advise a POP in Glasgow was causing issues last night and some hardware was replaced around 4am. My gateway ip has changed overnight and responses are now very good indeed:
