Re: slow as a snail

Got the same problem my actual speed is from 200k - 4mb when using my pad via WIFI and on my desktop computer it sometimes gets as high as 3-4 MB
Rand the helpline a number of times one bloke said it was the router ..... he was helpful..... sent me a new router.......  no difference ----- the last time I rang he said they were seeing 16MB into the router but when I tested it on the BT site he reccomended I was seeing 5MB
I am using XP which has been reliable, but I have been trying to sort this speed problem for many months now, it cant me the machine as I have tried all sorts of "cleanup" and virus checking programs and all seems well.... left my last provider because plusnet said I could get a faster speed but its worse!  Plusnet say they cant help anymore.        I can see the telephone exchange they use from my bedroom window!    The data could walk there faster...
The only thing I can think of is a change to the DNS server - anybody any other  suggestions ?
As plusnet say they cant help any more  - the only thing left open to me is to go somewhere else

Re: slow as a snail

@peterx666 - I've just tested your line and can't see that you're connected for one reason or another? Is your router switched on?
Your connection graph shows that this happens quite regular, any reason in particular you can think of?

Re: slow as a snail

Turning the router on and off like that doesn't help in fact it makes it worse as the DLM will think there is more of a problem than there is and slows the line down even more to get stability, routers are designed to be left on
