router wont connect automaticaly with wireless adapter

On startup connection fails and repair prog needed to connect but fed up with doing this already ,this began after installing the mcaffe protection yesterday ,my geek pal installed new drivers to adapter last night but still prob persists. The repair system says contact ip provider but plusnet guy suggested i try netgear for help and guess what netgear says contact ip provider so anyone have any ideas? not too tecky as an old siver surfer

If it began after installing the McAfee software then for heavens sake uninstall it again!!!  McAfee is pretty dreadful at the best of times and in this case it has decided the best way of keeping you safe is to block your wireless connection completely.  Instead of McAfee use Microsoft Security Essentials http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security/pc-security/mse.aspx
