Has anybody come across a solution for this one -
Windows 7 PC with PlusNet's most recent Thomson router. Everything OK on the desktop but on my smartphone HTC One X+ (and another couple of mobiles around the house - though not all!) I occasionally end up in some far flung place - today it's Al Sinnia and it's 42 degrees!!
This is according to my weather app (both of them)
If I reset the router it occasioanlly fixes it, sometime, like this morning, it just sent me to Iraq
The only other piece of kit worth mentioning may be a Signal Booster from 3 (our network provider) as the signal around the house is very poor sometimes. The booster plugs into the back of the router.
Any thoughts?

Nearly but not I think. This is a slightly different issue, mine is caused by PlusNet or the router sending out duff info. I can't remember what the Customer Services guy explained to me a few months ago when I called in about it, I seem to recall there were questions about needing a fixed address of some kind for the booster box maybe causing it? (Sorry to be so vague but my usually feeble mind is completely zapped now as I'm off with Glandular Fever and feeling really crap!)

The only thing the router knows or transmits to the device is the IP address otherwise it hasn't a clue where it is
Doing a check on the IP address should give the correct location of the server http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip-lookup which thinks I am in Barnet
It appears to be a more widespread problem http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-razr-razr-maxx/614949-weather-app-location-wrong.html

Thanks Oldjim, I guess I'll just need to put up with it until a fix comes along. I wonder why switching off the modem sometimes fixes it though? Mind you if the modem goes off so does the signal booster... wonder what it sends out?
