readynas + torrents + plusnet

hi, can anyone help me out..  i can use bitcomet on my laptop and its all fine but when i try and use my torrent client on my readynas NV+ i get no joy with bittorrent and when trying to use transmission it reports the port is closed, even when i try and use the port that was working ok with the laptop
any pointer would be appreciated

Does the Readynas have a built in firewall that you need to open a port on?

It sounds to me like a firewall issue too. If the readyNas has a firewall you should be able to find out the ports you'd ned to open from your bit torrent client.
