I've just started using torrents to share spoken word radio programmes. Can someone tell me....
1) Do Plusnet charge me when I'm 'seeding'?
2) I've received four e-mails to tell me I've exceeded my allowance, one on the 5th. and three more today. Does this mean I will be paying for another 8 Gb?

Your allowance is for up and down - so seeding does count towards your usage.
Check your usage in the members area, but if you've been sent 2 mails sounds like it.
You'd be best off using the overnight free periods to do your torrenting, or limit the daytime usage.
What package are you on?

I'm on PlusNet Broadband Your Way Option 2 with included 15GB bandwidth.
My usage says I've used 18.38 paid for Gb so far and my month has another 7 days to go. I assumed I didn't pay for uploading, or seeding. I've been too generous to my peers
I'll try restricting my use of torrents to overnight, and I suppose I might need to change my package. No such thing as a free lunch.

Depending on your torrent application you should be able to schedule it between midnight and 8am

Azureus / Vuze has a better scheduler though is more resource hungry than uTorrent.

havent tried vuze for long time.
last time i checked i am sure there was no scheduler. but i didnt give it long before uninstalling for the very reason of it being a big fat bloatware cpu hungery beast
i like utorrent.
set the amount of connections at right amount and set your upload to 80% and utorrent just sit's there maxing your line out with very little effort on the resource front.
but if you like all that pimp my ride stuff then vuse is bang on what you need
