profile question

How long should it take for my PN profile to catch up with the BT profile..?
Download speedachieved during the test was - 2908 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :6144 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5000 Kbps
Phone exchange:
    MANNINGTREE
Estimated line speed:
    3.0 - Checked on 2009-09-09 20:39:18
Current line speed:
    3500
i thought it was very quick it the speed difference was significant?

Re: profile question

The bigger the increase in sync speed, the quicker BT's system will adjust your IP Profile upwards. This has already happened - 5000 is the correct profile for your 6144 sync.
PN's system is normally updated twice a day, regardless of the size of the increase.

Re: profile question

possibly but at present it only gets updated once per day so I would leave it until tomorrow to see if it has changed

Re: profile question

I hadn't heard about the updates now being once, not twice, per day, Jim. Do you know if that's temporary or permanent?

Re: profile question

It was in a thread a while back and I have no idea about its permanence or otherwise

Re: profile question

I've found the wait period for a Plusnet Profile to catch up with a BT Profile to be very variable; sometimes within 12 hours, but most commonly 1 to 3 days. I usually give up waiting after 2-3 days and ask PN to equalise the PN Profile, and they do it there and then (thanks Customer Support).
I really do wish that it was a definite equalisation every 12 hours.

Re: profile question

Hi jack21,
This is something we're currently looking at, though there's no updates at present. We'll keep you posted though.
