Re: please help!!!!! slow broadband speed

Hi there,
If you're unable to ping 192.168.0.2 it suggests an issue with your internal network, most likely your wireless throwing a wobbly.
If you reboot your router are you then able to ping that IP address?
Are you able to access http://voyager.home ?

Re: please help!!!!! slow broadband speed

http://voyager.home is your router, this is where you need to be. Have a look on the status page and see if you can see the downstream and upstream connection speed, also if possible the other line stats (attenuation etc) that will be displayed with this. If you can post these here we'll be able to advise further.
Hope that helps,

Re: please help!!!!! slow broadband speed

Rebooting your laptop might help since you've changed your network connection.
The IP address of your router should be 192.168.1.1. Using http://voyager.home/ takes you to that place and the stats you got there are excellent. Have those changed since you rebooted your router? Assuming the answer is no, answers to the following questions would help with diagnosis. Please retain the wired connection if you can.

Are these "line tests" actually speed-tests? What results do you get if you do that on mybroadband speed here?
What value is shown as your current broadband speed on the portal here?
The final result that could help with diagnostics is a test on the BT speed-tester here. Unfortunately this site is very temperamental but if you can get them the results could be very helpful. The first page needs your phone number, the second username@realm as entered in your router set-up.

Re: please help!!!!! slow broadband speed

Hi there,
I've checked profiling settings at both ends and I'm seeing no reason why you should be seeing speeds that low.
As Mr. T (who isn't a fool) has suggested above please try running one of our speedtests over at http://mybroadbandspeed.co.uk

Re: please help!!!!! slow broadband speed

Hi there,
In that case I would strongly suggest trying to tweak your MTU and rWin values.
I'd recommend going with an MTU of 1430 on both your router (which you should be able to set) and your desktop (using the software I'm about to post about).
rWin should be 111200.
You can set these using DR TCP.
