Re: not getting the speed i should be

It's how we currently provision our lines, I can arrange for this to be uncapped if you wish?

Dear Mr ,
Testing has not uncovered any fault with the service. The connection is stable, error free, in sync at 6159kbps, and the exchange profile is set at an appropriate level. The estimated minimum connection speed for this circuit is 3mbps. Please let us know if throughput speeds deteriorate to this level, and we'll continue to investigate.
Kind regards,

Re: not getting the speed i should be

Hi there,
I can see that the order to uncap the upload has completed, also your line profile is set at around 5300kb/s which is above the speed estimate for your line (5Mb)? Hoping therefore that everything's been sorted, please let us know.

Re: not getting the speed i should be

upload uncapped yes thats great speed by the download hasnt changed at all. again here are the figures quoted to me by PN
Phone exchange:
ABERDARE
Estimated line speed:
7Mb (This may vary between 5.5Mb and 12Mb)  - Checked on 2013-03-14 16:34:30
Current line speed:
5.4 Mb
(debateable)

Re: not getting the speed i should be

Hmm, see what you're saying - unfortunately though line speed estimates can change, I suspect this may have happened in this case. On checking your number at http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome downstream speeds on ADSL2+ are showing as up to 6.5Mb/s and the range for these speeds is between 3mb and 8mb. As that's the case it's unlikely any speed fault would be accepted as such.
Sorry about that.

Re: not getting the speed i should be

I'm afraid as I said above it sounds like the line limits and estimate have changed. Unfortunately that can happen.

Re: not getting the speed i should be

If I had I'd have been incorrect though 😕 it's not lower than the lower limit. I'm sorry that the speeds have dropped, and it may be worth raising a fault to get it looked at, I'd just rather set your expectations correctly that the fault may not be accepted by our suppliers due to the limit change.

Re: not getting the speed i should be

its pointless raising a fault yet again as its been raised by yourselves several times already and i would almost guarantee nothing else will be found.
im just stuck with what i got now for the next 12 months!
