Re: new broardband speed checker history

I have same question.......... how can we keep a check on our speed history, without physically writing it down on a sheet of paper, and clipping it to the back of the computer for safe keeping..?

Hi there,
The history is tied to a cookie on your machine at present, so if you clear your cookies and cache you will lose your history.
We are currently identifying the best way to tie speed test history into the portal, in the same way that the old tester worked.

Smiley Thanks Mand,  let`s hope it won`t take too long... Roll_eyes
Strat,  Your download is about the same as mine, and the upload is far better, so you ain`t alone, however, it would be nice to be able to see any significant changes in the history folder, to help with fault finding... Smiley

Lets hope you cage the cookie monster soon.
As i like to clear cookies and temp files for sercurity reasons.

Re: new broardband speed checker history

There's still a problem lurking there:-
I never clear my cookies but the "history" only saves the last 30 tests.
Also, it only uses the last 16 results for the graph.
I preferred the old version.

I'd rather have a limited number of accurate results than an unlimited number of rubbish results!

I'm not sure if the new one is at all accurate.
I get the same speed (almost) of between 3750 and 3850 kbps - regardless of the time of day.
This is regardless of having a sync rate of twice that figure and a BRAS profile of 6500.

I`d rather be able to keep the history for at least a month......even "inaccurate" results are a record of what has been happening, even if they are 15% in error, that "inaccuracy" would be consistant throughout the results..... Roll_eyes

That was part of the problem - the inconsistency for people with faster connections.

Only for the line graph.
For those wanting to save their results for eternity, why not use the "download this data" option?

Re: new broardband speed checker history

It lies about the scatter graph.
I only count about 15 points - but 30+ are available.
