need help with external usenet

i have been unable to access my paid news server since starting this broadband. i have tried everything i know how to do, from port forwarding to formatting and re-installing. even tried reverting to 98me and changing router. news server responds to ping but not telnet and i can connect from a mates house. only thing i can think of is that the problem is with plusnet.

Could be related to your package.
Option 1 isn't suitable for Binary Usenet downloading and during busy evenings may struggle to connect to binary Usenet suppliers at all.
