latency increase

Can anyone advise why pings appear to have increased over the last few weeks.  I used to be able to acheive a healthy 19-21ms response times on pingtest and to bbc.co.uk, howeber having just tested now, the best I can muster is around 49.  This is not particularly great when it comes to gaming.
Any ellacoya tweaking takien place recently, Id like my 20ms pings back please!  Smiley

Re: latency increase

19-20ms  is Xcellent,
rare best case result maybe
Pls, describe your setup a little please,
you could, post your routers stats page info
and info about interleaving may be discerned from this, hopefully
some comms info appears when these addresses are entered into your browser address bar:
{not forgetting username and password for the router/modem, possibly supplied or underneath the unit }
eg:  ( addrs by router manuf.) include --
NETGEAR:, or-  LINKSYS (I BELIEVE)
http://192.168.0.1/
Our own Plusnet equipment  Thomson TG585 v6,7,8 supplied by PN:
http://192.168.1.254/
some older routers or 'business'y setups:
http://10.0.0.1/
info. might not be on 1st page, but on a page link on those above (eg stats, connection, DSL, broadband topics)

stuff which looks like the attached from mine>

@ Chesterfield
Somethings definately gone to pot there , was your connection unstable a fair bit over the last few weeks? Like Asbo says perhaps interleaving was put back on to stabilise it?

Re: latency increase

Support have sent the request to have interleaving turned off for me.
I normally have a rock solid 8128 or occasionally I may get a sync of one level below this if I ever have cause to turn the router off.
I think I have identified what may have caused this turning back on of the interleaving.  We have recently had some electrical work done at the house along with plumbing etc, and at several points during this work they had to shut the power off.  I remembered things like pc's, sky+ box etc, but forgot the router.
The electrician at one point had to test several RCD circuits, resulting in the power going off and back on again a few times in quick succession.  I think this could easily have upset the router and the exchange into thinking that I had connectivity issues.
Hopefully after its turned off again it should stay that way.
