PlusNet filter had not delivered a couple of very important emails as marked as spam.

How did you have the Plusnet filter set (tag and deliver to inbox, tag and deliver to spam folder or delete)?

My congratulations also Gary.
I hope that you have notified all of your friends that might still use those addresses to contact you that you have a different address now.
Strat, is your picture the cover from Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' - I think I still have the LP somewhere.

That is the PF album you mention but maybe the left side of the prism could be seen as legitimate email and the rhs as spam?  Wink

As geezer says...yes it is which probably confirms me as a Pink Floyd fan, something I try to keep quiet to avoid ridicule Sad  Wink

Re: is anti spam working?

Checked the PlusNet email today. 133 offers of pills and potions to enhance me. All looked very blockable by the
anti spam products.
So 10-15 minutes of my life were wasted removing this crap.
I do not use the PlusNet email other than for receiving the
internal notices. So......can I turn off any emails that are not  generated by PlusNet ? Angry

Re: is anti spam working?

Gweltek have you turned the 'catchall' mailbox off and setup an 'alias' so the spam messages not matching your chosen 'alias' don't get delivered to you?

Yes. Rename your default mailbox to 'postmaster', remove the other mailboxes on your account and then turn off your catch-all. That way you will *only* receive email sent to postmaster@username.plus.com.

I am also spam free!
I renamed the default account, created new email addresses and gradually phased out the old spammed adresses. Takes a little time to do this but so does dealing with spam day in day out.

Re: is anti spam working?

could someone please explain to a thicko like me why I am being inundated with spam. Ever since Plus let the cat out of the bag, its been gradually increasing. Prior to that event, it was nil. Now its 20-30 per day.
Surely Plus must see hundreds of messages to its customers each day from the same email address (or whatever other way there is of identifying the source)? Is it beyond reasonable for Plus to block these? Or does each individual spam message to each individual address originate from a unique source?
Its getting to be a real PIA.

Re: is anti spam working?

I'm currently getting 80 a day. It's making my e-mail account almost unusable and I've got alot of online accounts directed at this address.
Are plusnet going to do anything about it?
