internet speeds at night

is it a common thing for internet speeds to drop at certain timres of the day/night. nearly every night starting about 8pm speed starts to drop from around 5.5mbps to just over 1mbps till just after nine then it shoots back up again thanks

Normally this kind of thing suggests a bit of contention at the exchange but having just checked yours it doesn't report it as being. If you could do some speed tests at www.speedtester.bt.com over the next couple of days, before, during and after the peak time we can see if it's a common pattern.
