Cheers for the heads up Oldjim  Wink
It shows how greedy they have become, however that said we did have a free run for many a year, and it takes many a person, days, weeks , months & years to produce such a great program and the coders have to eat, drink, sleep, dream code  Smiley

Good business really.
Produce a good product and give it away free to the masses.
After a respectable time and having acquired a sizeable 'customer' base, start charging for updates.

Re: inSSIDer v4 is no longer free

inSSIDer isn't that great really, it just does pretty graphs of scan results. It can't show non-wifi interference, it can't show how heavily used each network is, it just shows the number of networks on each channel and their signal strengths, so it can't really show which channel is best to use. Just because you can see another network on the same channel as you doesn't prove that your wireless problem must be caused by the other network being on your channel. It's better to just try the different channels.
