how to use newsgroups?

Hi its been a few years since i used news groups and have forgoten how to use them,last time i used them i had freeserve as my isp,ive dl some software called NewBin Pro and ive gone to install it but its asks for server address,what address would i put here?

If you intend using PN's news server you would enter news.plus.net

Are you talking about text discussion groups or binary Usenet (ie. Music/Movies etc.)?

Plusnet only supply a text usenet feed. You will have to sign-up with one of the many usenet providers for binary feeds.
Don't use usenet so can't recommend any S/W.

As for recommendations, I personally use Newsbin Pro as my client and Astraweb as my provider. I source my .nzb's from here.
There's some useful info on the ins and outs here.
