how to tell if interleaving is off?

i have requested interleaving turned off, was told it usualy takes 24hours but could take up to 5days. how can i tell if it has been turned off yet? pointless asking pn and it doesnt say on my router stats . my router is a thomson tg585 v.7 i have gone into the dsl connection stats but it doesnt say. below are the results of a ping test i have just run, not sure if i can tell from those results whether interleaving is on or off

Re: how to tell if interleaving is off?

Unless you're on an extremely short quiet line, there will be some FEC errors in the router stats with interleaving on. If it's off, there will be none, whatever the line condition.

Re: how to tell if interleaving is off?

Two ways - first is to do a tracert to www.bbc.co.uk for example - times of around 30 to 40 msecs indicate interleaving is still on
Second is to follow the instructions here http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,80792.msg659208.html

Re: how to tell if interleaving is off?

Why add the extra hops to the BBC Jim? Surely a server in the Plusnet suite is far better e.g.
C:\Users\John>tracert ntp.plus.net
Tracing route to ntp.plus.net [212.159.6.9]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
  1    2 ms    1 ms    1 ms  dg834 [192.168.0.1]
  2    13 ms    11 ms    12 ms  lo0-homesurf.ptn-ag03.plus.net [195.166.130.6]
  3    12 ms    11 ms    12 ms  gi2-8-805.ptn-gw01.plus.net [84.92.2.17]
  4    12 ms    12 ms    12 ms  vl55.ptn-lb01.plus.net [212.159.2.124]
  5    12 ms    13 ms    11 ms  cdns01.plus.net [212.159.6.9]
Trace complete.

Re: how to tell if interleaving is off?

I can remember the BT site but couldn't remember that one  Embarrassed
This is the same thing with interleaving

C:\Users\Jim>tracert ntp.plus.net
Tracing route to ntp.plus.net [212.159.13.49]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
  1    1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  192.168.0.1
  2    34 ms    32 ms    34 ms  lo0-central3.pcl-ag01.plus.net [195.166.128.234]
  3    51 ms    71 ms    32 ms  gi1-5-131.pcl-gw01.plus.net [84.92.6.16]
  4    33 ms    32 ms    33 ms  vl63.pcl-lb01.plus.net [212.159.2.252]
  5    36 ms    33 ms    33 ms  cdns01.plus.net [212.159.13.49]
Trace complete.

Re: how to tell if interleaving is off?

If you can't remember the name I'm sure you can remember the IP addresses!
C:\Users\John>nslookup ntp.plus.net
Server:  cdns01.plus.net
Address:  212.159.6.9
Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    ntp.plus.net
Addresses:  212.159.6.9
         212.159.13.49
         212.159.6.10
         212.159.13.50

Edit: Also it's the second from bottom entry in the link in my signature
