Folks,
Gurus,
I need your expert help.
My poor little speedtouch 585v7 works excellently as a modem on my long-distance line, but is really flaky as a router, rebooting several times a day whenever anything does plug-and-play, or messes with static dns entries etc.
I'd like to put my rock solid d-link dgl-4300 gaming router between my lan and the 585v7, and just use the 585v7 as an adsl modem.
So I have 2 problems... firstly, how can I switch the 585v7 into pure bridged mode?
Secondly, how can I configure my dgl-4300 router to use the 585v7 as a modem?
All help gratefully received.

Thanks. I did try to register on their forums, but their registration captcha only works if you're on their network, I think.
I tried a different approach... a short sequence of CLI commands on the 585v7 which puts it into pptp server mode. Then connected to it using pptp from the router.
That appears to work. Probably not optimal, but at least I have Internet access and can use the router for lan-handling stuff like dhcp, firewall rules etc.
The only minor problem with this setup is that I can't access the 585 anymore from a machine on the lan to see what rate I've connected as

Gave up for now with the 585v7. Using a dg834gv4 in bridge mode. That seems to work very cleanly so far. You can even access the gui web page from another port

Went back to the 585v7 as it has a more stable connection on my line than the dg834v4.
this page had the best method for me to turn my 585v7 into bridge mode.
It did need one tweak. Changing 0*101 to 0*38.
Thanks.
