hi there problems started instantly upon changeover from bt. Youtube pausing all the time constant gaming disconnects and just generally feels a bit slower. very annoying. bt service was previously perfect, but pricey. I think the line is ok, contention is green at my exchange so is it plusnets service ?

That's the killer - you've been provisioned on a fixed speed 1Mb down / 0.25Mb upstream service, instead of a proper ADSL Max or ADSL 2+ service.
What does the availability checker say you can get? http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome (If posting a screenshot, blank out your phone number)

Almost certainly a provisioning error, either a human error or an automated system going pear shaped. You'll have to wait until the morning for the CRT guys to pick this up and hopefully get it fixed for you.

It looks like we received an error when we initially placed your order meaning we could only provide you on a fixed 1Mbb product. I've just been through the order checker and it's now letting us order Max DSL, which should allow speeds up to 8Mb. Unfortunately this is the fastest available in your area but you should get much closer to the estimates when the order completes tomorrow.
