Re: free usage

depends on how much you are seeing if its less than 1m, it is only background noise - keep alive signals from router, hackers trying to get in your computer, no need to worry.  if it is a high figure is your router secured with either WEP or WPA, it should be

Re: free usage

@firefly2
WEP and WPA only apply if you've got a wireless router.
As pierre_pierre has said, the small amount of traffic seen overnight is only background internet "noise".

Re: free usage

out of interest Firefly what router have you got?
I ask this as my "Darling" brother in law  Undecided has his computer connected by wire, he didnt know his router was WiFi and wondered how I was sat in his lounge using my laptop - it was secured but he has a bit of paper on his desk top with the WEP code on it  Cool
corrected small typo

Nope.
It's not a wireless router.

Re: free usage

It's not actually a router at all.  It's just a little box with flashing lights that James sends out to make people think they have broadband, and he just sends you sceendumps every now and again.....  Cheesy

Re: free usage

Query about the free usage.
Is it completely free (I ask as I'm intending to leave my PC on one night a month to download its Windows updates and I'd rather this did not come out of my paid bandwidth as I have better things to do with it)  Smiley

Re: free usage

It's completely free. The traffic during the hours of off-peak on your package does not count towards the monthly usage limit.
