i did a factory reset on my thomson tg585 v8,
and now the user name and password will not log me in to it
can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum. 
I assume you are connected to Plusnet, just can't login to the router web interface.
The username for this should be admin (all lower case) and the password CP..., the 11-character serial number of the router which should be on the label underneath. All letters in the password are capitals, and be careful with 0 (zero) and O (letter).
