dsl not connected and speed issues

On my routerstats lite my noise margin has risen from 14.24 to 18.33, the connection speed has been a steady 4500 kbps

That is unusual but probably due to bit swapping which is very clever and if you want to read about it Kitz site is a mine of information http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adsl_technology.htm#bit_swapping

Regarding the sync speed can you post the noise margin graph from Routerstats for the over night period

Just to confirm it has peaked at 16.0 and gone down to 12.0 at the moment it is 15.0

Unless you have some software which allows you to do a screen capture just press the Print Scrn key which copies the screen to the clipboard. You can then paste it into a suitable software package and crop if it supports it.
If you save the picture as a jpg then you can post it on here using the Additional Options Tag

here we go Jim...speed was at 4480 then dropped to 4416 and has held steady ever since

It looks as though there was a resync at about 21.18 but the others were probably failure of Routerstats to get the data as the router was too busy to respond.
However it does look as though the sync held at a good rate.
Does the log show anything happening yesterday evening (Routerstats or the router itself)
EDIT - I am a bit unhappy with what happened at about 22.00

was actually replacing the cables into the router at about that time (and at about 21.30ish) , just trying it to see if that was the problem..but it was not, infact no change at all...Colin

In that case it looks extremely promising - I suggest you leave well alone and just monitor.
The noise margin gross variation over night is what would be expected although the small continuous variations are a little higher than I would have expected that is probably down to the router and is nothing to be concerned about.
All we need to do now is to wait for the silly BT system to respond and then for Plusnet to update their system.
