One thing ITSME didn't say is that you should go round all the other sockets in the house and disconnect wires 3 and 4 so that only 2 and 5 are connected.
Once that is done you can try connecting to the master socket again but frankly I don't hold out much hope unless you spot a duff wire connection.
If after doing all this and there is no better result then the only thing I can suggest is that somehow your internal wiring has developed a fault and will need fixing although the filtered faceplate I mentioned above may help considerably.
In my case what I did was to disconnect all the internal wiring from the master socket and go all DECT with the base station plugged into the faceplate filter at the master socket.

Regarding your transfer from AOL to Plusnet I am guessing but you were possibly on LLU (local loop unbundled) with AOL. With that they don't have this stupid IPprofile system so whatever your sync speed is that is what you would get.
The reason you are getting lousy speeds is that due to a low sync event your IP profile dropped to1250kbps and it takes up to 3 days to recover providing there are no low sync events. As you have been seeing a sync as low as 2112kbps today your IP profile will still be down at 1750kbps I think when it changes.
Now the line is connecting at 3,900 kbps that will give an IP profile of 3,000kbps providing it holds sync for 3 days approx.
You should now leave your router on and check the stats each day - an update here would be useful.
Now - why is your speed lower than it used to be.
This is because your default noise margin has been increased to 15dB due to the line stability problems you have been seeing. Once things have settled down and if the line is totally stable it should drop automatically after a few weeks. This is all controlled at the exchange by the BT automated systems.
However there is still a difference between the test socket and the master socket so I would definitely recommend fitting a filtered faceplate from ADSLNation as i recommended earlier. This will definitely isolate your internal wiring from the broadband connection.
One other thing if you want to push you sync speed a bit higher you could resync during the day (the noise on the line always increases after dark).

Your BT profile is also fine, so that's not causing the poor speeds either.
Are you getting speeds like that consistently?
