One thing you could do is ask for your upload to be uncapped which will give you faster uploads.

So the reason i asked the question was in the first couple of weeks i was having a lot of bother with my server and post forwarding and ip addresses so i was constantly unplugging the router and reconnecting without logging off first (have now found out that you should do this first), so just wondered if this had any effect on my speeds, as when i was with O2 a while back i used to get higher
Thanks
Robert
Just checked current line speed and it now states 5Mb\s

Anyway as far as your line performance goes, as was commented earlier, you appear to have "got away with it". If you want to make changes, it's best to go off line by dropping your PPP session first as you've been advised before then powering down. It would be best to do all the changes off-line and only go back on-line when you have done or have no option but to test on-line.
The sync speed you are currently getting is quite good for your line attenuation. The Noise margin suggests you may have a bit of noise pick up on your line which will ultimately limit what you can get out of it. Errors don't seem to bad for a non-interleaved line.
But stats with a longer uptime would give a better idea.
