I have been trying all day just to get a couple of emails sent, I called tech support and they saw there was major problems with my connectivity issues, but it was a BT problem.
I was told it could take 72 hours to fix.
Does anyone know why and will it really take that long ..... so frustrated as I have no mobile coverage here and keep in touch through iMessage with my children back home

Reading between the lines, it appears your line was banded to improve stability. This shouldn't have caused problems sending mails though, even though the connection was slow. The speed issues (and intermittent connection) do appear to have been resolved.
Do you still experience the same problems with the EMail?
