changing product - will I now have 12 month contract?

I'm considering chaning from  to

  • Your Way Option 3 (Monthly Contract) *30GB Usage Allowance
to

  • Plusnet Premium * 80GB Usage Allowance

Does this mean that I would then be on a 12 month contract? It doesn't make it clear (for existing customers - I realise new customers will be on a 12 month contract).
I've raised a question but suprise haven't had an answer yet  Roll_eyes
thankyou!

Nope - 10 days only.  Grin
If you take free hardware then you would need to pay for it if you left before 12 months

Oh and excuse Jim, Welcome to the Forums,  there are no 12 month contracts except for business users

Re: changing product - will I now have 12 month contract?

hi
and thanks
so just to be clear - as a residential customer, I will still only have to give (10 days) notice if I upgrade (in my opinion) to that premium package? That seems too good to be true...(I don't need any equipment / router from plusnet)

Look in your account to see pending charges and it might tell you  https://portal.plus.net/my.html?s=0&action=account_summary

Re: changing product - will I now have 12 month contract?

This is what it shows:
Deferred Setup  £30.00(upon cancellation)  Activated
Cessation charge £25.00(upon cancellation) Activated
Deferred Hardware - Wireless 4 port router £40.00 (upon cancellation)
Are all these charges not payable if i move after 12 months?  When i joined Plusnet i didnt have a MAC because Sky just cancelled my broadband completely.

Re: changing product - will I now have 12 month contract?

Deferred set up and hardware charges "vanish" after 12 months - the cessation charge stays for ever but is only applied if you cancel B/Band - if you migrate using a MAC then the charge isn't applied.

@chacha, that's correct.
@kev25v6, your charges would be £70 if you decided to migrate to another provider before your initial contract is up. If you decided to cancel outright the cessation charge would apply as well.
