can my connection go any faster JOJO PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN OR OTHER ADMIN

thanks got problems here i am on the wireless network but daughters laptop wont connect even after putting in password we set for the ssid name security bit so guessing hubbys wont either
hubby is connected ok daughter is local only
no idea why or how to fix it any help appreciated

Hi Michelle,
Your connection is looking much better. No drops since you installed the new router. I suppose I could try turning interleaving off. Just bear in mind that if it starts dropping again it'll have to go back on.

Can I ask you why you want interleaving off? If it's just for speed I would say it's probably not worth it.

yes it is just for speed, I was wondering if it would put me back up to the 4 meg i got for a short while but if think it isnt really worth it then leave it turned on, as to be honest as you know i dont have a clue

but today  I am still disconnecting as it just happened had local only no internet, the internet and the dsl lights went out not sure if this was the case when i was using my old router but i am now no longer sure the problem is solved with a new router can we do anything else or do i have to wait and see what happens over the weekend this time

HI Michelle,
The frequency of drops are nothing I would be be concerned about, and if you were to raise a fault they'd just pass it back to you as no fault. The main thing is that your profile isn't dropping. If there was a problem then your profile would drop and you'd get a lower speed. I would certainly think it's not worth worrying about unless that happened. I think there's a danger that we can try to over-analyse things sometimes when the most important thing is whether your performance is affected. The best advice I could give you is not to let routerstats or behaviour drive you crazy (because it will) unless you start to see a decline in your internet experience.

ok in that case unless we go back to what it was before which was daily disconnections and often more than once i wont worry unless that happens again or i notice my speed dropping off or profile drop as for the router if it keeps losing its stats and i have to disconnect to get them back may that is faulty and i will take it back to where i bought it for an exchange
