broadband speeds appauling!

not even getting 4mb/s download speed, its pretty hurrendous to be honest, can anything be done about this or do i just have to put up with it? downloaded a 1gb file earlier and my download speed peaked at 520kb/s!!!!! surely theres something wrong?! anyone help?

I've run a few tests and I can't see any issues.
Your estimated speed is 3mbps and I can see from the BT Speedtest you ran your getting around 4mbps which is above that.
I think you may be getting confused between Kbps and KB/s. 520kb/s works out at around 4.1mbps.
