Re: best for me

my speeds on the speed tester are 950 and 327
B.T. Test

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 1000 kbps
    DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)  1376 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 897 kbps

I realise that I cant do better , but would like to be advised  if I am useing the most advantagous service . I pay 14-99 perhaps I could get as much as I need or use for 9-99 only Plusnet can tell me that .Thats what Im trying to find out. Haveing said that my close neighbour useing B.T consistently gets 1400 speed . He says a change of provider gave him more speed  Thanks  E

Re: best for me

Hi there,
You seem to average about 2GB a month (that's peak and off peak), so if you don't use P2P or Usenet (which you don't appear to) then I reckon your best bet would be changing to BBYW Option 1 with an additional GB include.  That would cost you £10.74.
The only way you would see any improvement in speed would be by changing to an LLU service provider that offers ADSL2+.  I think they all have 12 month contracts and no Comms Team Smiley

Re: best for me

James, with suck a slow speed on ADSL would ADSL2+ give stathe much more?

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: best for me

Probably not.
It will depend on the line really.

Re: best for me

Hi,
P2P is Peer to Peer which is a form of legal and illegal file sharing.
The Usenet which I was referring to is binary groups which again is used for distribution of legal and illegal file sharing.  Yours is just text based, so you wouldn't notice any slowdowns.

Re: best for me

It will do, although I'll need to reapply the discount once the account change has been performed.

Re: best for me

Hi Ed,
Changing product will have no affect on what sort of referral credits and bounty you receive.
However, I'm still not sure what you mean.  What useful links are you referring to?
