After another couple of weeks, numorous support calls,questions and fault checks , the line speed is exactly the same as when I was on ADSL1:
Estimated line speed: 6 - Checked on 2010-01-01 16:09:49 Current line speed: 4000
I've done everything that Plusnet Support have asked and they still cant get this profile reset. My DSL router shows:
noise margin upstream: 0 db
output power downstream: 20 db
attenuation upstream: 17 db
noise margin downstream: 10 db
output power upstream: 12 db
attenuation downstream: 33 db
i'm 1 mile from my exchange and I currently get about 4Mbps. I hoped to get about 10Mbps downstream on 21CN. I'm really annoyed with Plusnet support at this point. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

Without looking at your account, we will not normally have had to change any modulation on your ccount. Once on 21CN with the ADSL2+ option, there are no further options from our side to control ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ setting, this becomes down to your modem/router.

Quote from: magicshoes the line speed is exactly the same as when I was on ADSL1:
So what is it, you've not quoted it, either before or after?
As OldJim says, it's available along with the other stats from your router.
Also please say what make & model it is.
Your attenuation figure suggests that you SHOULD have had almost 8mbps on ADSL1 anyway so may well have a serious wiring problem.
(and ADSL2+ nearer 13mbps!)

My router model is a Zyxel Prestige 660hn-f1z.
My Download Speed has always ranged 4Mbps up to 5.5Mbps before and after being converted to the 21CN network.
So how do I get the Line profile reset - from the plusnet High Speed Broadband link in Members Centre, Connection setting it still says:
Telephone number:
<withheld>
Phone exchange:
<withheld>
Estimated line speed:
6 - Checked on 2010-01-01 16:09:49
Current line speed:
4000
i think my speed is being restricted in some way.
Thanks again.

Quote from: Oldjim You still haven't provided the speed information from your router
Indeed, personally I'm losing interest.
The router is advertised as ADSL2+ so, IF SET UP CORRECTLY, should work fine in ADSL2+ mode.

DSL STANDARD: ADSL2PLUS
UPSTREAMRATE: 448 kbps
DOWNSTREAMRATE: 5656 kbps
UPSTREAM ATTAINABLE RATE: 22675 kbps
DOWNSTREAM ATTAINABLE RATE: 6216 kbps
From the GUI you would just see
UPSTREAMRATE: 448 kbps
DOWNSTREAMRATE: 5656 kbps
So does my speed profile being set as below, mean anything?
Telephone number:
<withheld>
Phone exchange:
<withheld>
Estimated line speed:
6 - Checked on 2010-01-01 16:09:49
Current line speed:
4000
Thanks

However the thing which is worrying is the upstream noise margin of 0dB which is either a reporting error or something is badly adrift. Given that your first report had the same value I would assume it is a reporting error
Can you plug the router into the test socket and advise the sync speeds, attenuation and noise margin

DSL Up 10359 kbps / 448 kbps
noise margin upstream: 30 db
output power downstream: 20 db
attenuation upstream: 17 db
noise margin downstream: 12 db
output power upstream: 12 db
attenuation downstream: 32 db
Sometimes this router does seem to report 0 on the noise margin upstream.
Think I'll need to sort out my internal wiring, leave the router up and running and see if the line profile improves, is this the right course of action.
Thank you very much for the help!
cheers
