Your experiences on moving from fully unbundled exchange

A couple of my friends are interested in joining plusnet, at the moment they are with sky llu fully unbundled phone and broadband.
How long has it taken for your move.

Re: Your experiences on moving from fully unbundled exchange

i was on sky unlimted , got constant speeds of between 14-17mb, since i moved to plusnet unlimited 2 months ago, max i get is 4mb, am regretting moving now, oh well lesson learnt when it comes to end of contract, sky will be the top of list to move back too.
but to answer your question it took about 2 weeks for everything to be up and running, you just keep sky until line, broadband is taken over by plusnet

@scoobydoo1
Have you followed this up as a fault in the past 2 months? It certainly sounds like something is not right... I see you requested a SNR reset yesterday. If your line is OK, hopefully this will return you to your expected speeds. If your line has a fault, it will obviously return back to 4Mbps again.
Sorry to digress...

hi, yes raised a fault, and also requested a line reset for good measure, will await to see if anything is found/done regarding low speeds

Re: Your experiences on moving from fully unbundled exchange

Hi scoobydoo1,
I've had a look over your connection and it seems that you're turning your connection off?

Is that the case? It seem's the may be the issue that has caused your slow speeds as the Dynamic Line Management which is used has limited your line profile as it see's the powering down as a potential issue.
We're currently testing your line too and will see if anything crops up from that.
Chris
EDIT - Updated link for radius log.
@townman, it's something that has been mentioned before and something we've looked at. I'll certainly take this up but I guess it depends on how fesable this is, we'd love you to have as many tools available to you as possible.

Re: Your experiences on moving from fully unbundled exchange

@Chris,
May be off topic, but I do not think that the link in the previous post is of real use to PN users... and therefore may be should not be published at all.
Alternatively, if this is potentially a route for users obtaining their own Radius connect log grpahs, that would be swell!  In which case can it (and details of how to use) be posted somewhere here as s 'sticky' please?

Cheers,
Kevin

Re: Your experiences on moving from fully unbundled exchange

I moved from Sky (Phone & BB) to PN Fibre in November last year.
Absolutely no problems!
I was without phone and broadband for a few short hours. Sky was terminated on the morning of the changeover, BTOR came late morning and BB was established in about an hour. They even demonstrated the huge speed that fibre gave me. The phone followed about an hour later!
There are techies here who will take ownership of any problems and stick with it until resolution - that's something that a lot of ISP's should do.
But, telephone support here is 'patchy'. Much better to post on these forums.

You read the BE forums? i think plusnet and BT will get more of the BE customers than sky.

Re: Your experiences on moving from fully unbundled exchange

Rubbish BB tech support from Sky!
When my speed suddenly dropped from 5+ megs to <3megs they just kept on saying that that was all my line would support!
Not once would they look at why it had suddenly dropped.
That's why I cancelled everything (TV, BB & phone) and came to PN & Freesat!

Re: Your experiences on moving from fully unbundled exchange

I guess I would feel the same but I'm one of the lucky ones never had problems with my broadband. Whenever I move might be a different story I seem to have a good line here
