Wow i love this.

Maybe i'm going over the top but after putting up with frequent line drops on my last isp with a max of 10mb in summer and 8mb in winter.
Trying to play BF3 on a evening was awful due to nightly drops.
Its great to see that since going to fibre i have had only 2 drops and i only seen them by logging into router.
I expected more drops as the line would be training for 10 days.So after 2 weeks i'm a very happy chappy.  Grin
Thanks plusnet, keep up the good work.
Will my estimated line speed change to actual or does it stay at estimate forever.
Estimated line speed:
    55Mb (Accurate to within +/- 1Mbit) - Checked on 2012-10-19 20:36:02
Current line speed:
    73.6 Mb

Re: Wow i love this.

The estimated line speed seems to be a 'one off' test that they perform when you order.
My estimated speed is similar to yours, and I too got speeds up the high 70's for the first few weeks, then it suddenly dropped down to under the estimated speed. I had a overhead cable replaced, but my speeds never recovered to the 70's again, I'm now stuck just below the estimated speed. I will be interesting to hear how you are getting on in say a months time.

Re: Wow i love this.

Will let you know.Winter was always the worst time for my line and had i been connected at estimate i would have been pleased so to get more is a plus.

Re: Wow i love this.

Looks like the router went crazy through the night as a result the line is down to 66 mbits.
Is it the router that determines line sync or the bt box will they ever go back up?
Can anyone make sense of these logs, firewall looks worrying.

Re: Wow i love this.

It's the BT modem that syncs with the cabinet, your router has nothing to do with sync.
Logs show that the firewall is working, it's blocking pings from a SKY Broadband address (94.0.111.225) and from a Three network address (92.40.33.195).
The router is updating its clock every hour - a bit excessive but not a problem.

Blimey, when I was younger we used to brag about the size of our w*****, now it's all down to download speeds. No wonder the nation is going to the dogs! Cheesy

Re: Wow i love this.

If you go into the first stage of the Product Change journey, so you get an estimated speed, that will update the estimate shown on that page. Doing that won't upset anything.

Re: Wow i love this.

@ nitrams69
You could change the "SNTP synchronised to server" from once an hour to once a day using telnet or putty using the following commands,
sntp config poll=1440
saveall

that should cut down on some of the entries for you
