Re: Would Plusnet like to comment on this post from A&A

Wow!!
That is a shocker of a read! Seems BT have a lot to answer for and Plusnets broken faults process is not entirely their own issue. BT seem to be trying to milk as much cash as they can for doing little/needless work, i'm shocked they've got away with this so long and the issues aren't a much higher profile, the original posting there was 2 years ago! The problems highlighted affect everyone that uses bb on a BT network, how has it been missed?!?

I think the Mafia would be proud of  the BT racket. ::). IMHO it's the sort of putrid chicanery that needs exposing.
No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

It looks as if everyone at PN has kept their heads below the parapet.

I just feel for a lot of elderly people who have broadband but don't have a clue about any of this, Its a shame and an outrage that nowadays customers have to be technically minded!! And that's before BB even gets inside!!

Re: Would Plusnet like to comment on this post from A&A

I'm not sure what exactly you would like us to comment on? AAISP are renown for being very anti-BT Wholesale and this is by no means the first time they've been aggressive/vocal about it. Given our owners we're hardly going to be inclined to take the same stance are we?
Yes the process has its shortcomings. Having said that we'd much rather try and improve what is available through the medium of regular service level reviews. This is far more favourable than airing our frustrations in public.
NB: I haven't read all of AAISP's posts in detail (only skim-read them), so apologies if I've overlooked misunderstood the question you were asking Jim.

Perhaps a comment on the fact that an SFI engineer isn't necessarily  an advanced fault specialist any more - that is if I read it correctly

I don't think that's a fair summary! They are certainly anti BT incompetence/idiocy, but when BT do do something well they will give them credit.

Re: Would Plusnet like to comment on this post from A&A

It's good to have a firm like AAISP who are not only willing to take on the corporate giant but also willing to let people know what's happening.
Equally, we can't expect a BT-owned firm like Plusnet to do the same.
As long as the forums remain open to spreading such news and views I think that's alright.

Shocked
On the contrary you're in a much better position to push for improvements.
How can you comment or decline to comment on something you 'skim read'?
I don't read any aggressiveness on the part of AAISP, only a defensive struggle, all the aggressive business strategy seems to be coming from BT.

Re: Would Plusnet like to comment on this post from A&A

OK, my post was a little sloppily worded and 'aggressive' and 'anti-BT Wholesale' probably weren't the best terms to use. I think most of you knew what I meant though? There have been a number of AAISP articles over the years that have been very strongly worded and not put Wholesale or BT's processes in a very favourable light. There was one in particular that I'm thinking of, but I've just had a scout about and couldn't find it.
Jim, I think that article's been around a while. I've certainly not seen any recent briefings about major changes to the SFI process or the type of engineers that are dispatched.

Fair enough Ben, we're all guilty of that from time to time.
Maybe as a smaller outfit they have to shout louder? They do seem to have customer support nailed down though, having browsed TBB and seen how proactive they are. Kind of like you guys but with more abilty to get things done faster in a smaller organisation - totally natural.
Anyway I have signed up with them so will see how it goes and offer some constructive thoughts on the differences when I get chance and given it some time.

However - I don't think  many on this forum hold BT Wholesale in a very favorouble light. You do a lot to protect them by only ever refferring to them as "Our Suppliers"
